Special bundle of our favorite Portuguese wines that match the profile of Malbec. Have some fun, blind taste your friends or surprise them with a less known wine. Our wines come from flagship wineries of Portugal, personally curated a process that took our founders 11 months!
1) Papo Amarelo Reserva 2019 – $39.50 - Vivino Rating 3.8
Tasting Notes: A dark deep red coloured wine. It has an intense nose with spicy notes and notes of wild berries, forest, and a touch of vanilla. In the mouth Taste of red and black fruits matures, with jam, soft in the mouth with very good tannins and structure, lingering after taste.
2) Invulgar 2017 - $39.50 – Vivino Rating 3.7
Tasting Notes: Deep red coloured with with highlights of garnet. Complex and rich in notes of black plum, blackberry, violet and bergamot, paired with fresh vanilla nuances, flanked with balsamic fragrances. Flavour: Reveals a well muscled and velvety body, the result of the firm and fine structure of the grape varieties and the character of our terroir.
3) Ea | Red | Reserva | 2019 | Doc Alentejo -$45.50 Vivino Rating 3.8
Tasting Notes: Garnet coloured wine. Aroma dominated by red fruits (strawberry), fig jam and black pepper. In the mouth it has good freshness, very good concentration, smooth tannins, ending with pleasant vegetable notes.
4) Javali Reserva 2015 - $58.00 – Vivino Rating 4.3
Tasting Notes: Deep red. Nose dominated by notes of ripe red fruit with some hints of strawberry jam and raspberry, combined with nuances of spice. So well integrated, there are notes of toasted barrels of high quality, giving a greedy character to wine, with aromas of vanilla and brioche. In the mouth, it confirms the fruity aromas in harmony with this structure but elegant.
5) Foral D'Evora | Red | 2018 | Doc Alentejo - $55.00 - Vivino Rating 4.2
Tasting Notes: Garnet coloured wine. Fruity aroma, with fruit jam, balsamic notes. In the mouth it has very good concentration, good acidity, very ripe and smooth tannins. Velvety finish.
6) Tapada do Chaves Old Vines 2013 - $142.00 – Vivino Rating 4.3
Tasting Notes: It has a concentrated ruby colour and a very complex aroma, with soft balsamic and notes of woods, with black fruit, rock-rose, earth and a vibrant vegetable. When subject to tasting this is concentrated and deep wine, highly structured, with present and extremely elegant tannins. The fruit, minerality and balanced acidity provide a very long and persistent finish, full of character.
