BACALHOA | Red | Quinta do Carmo | 2018 | Setubal - Vivino Rating 4.1
Intro: Bacalhoa is the name of the palace where the vines for this wine is grown. When we tried this wine, we immediately knew it was coming with us, it has been described as rivaling a more expensive left bank Bordeaux by our wine community in Singapore.
Region: Peninsula de Setubal | Winery: Bacalhoa
Grapes: Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Trincadeira
Aging: 12 months in French Oak Barrels
ABV: 14.5% | Decant: 1hr | Serving Temp: 16-18 °C
Pairing: Excellent with all types of grilled meats, roasted lamb or kid, or hard cheeses from sheep.
It reveals a dense and deep ruby color, with complex aromas of ripe fruits, jams and spices, a light smoke. In the mouth, it is a very balanced and elegant wine, with very pure and expressive wild fruit, polished tannins involved by the full body and a fresh and long finish.
