1) Sibio Rose | RCV | Rose | 2018 | Doc Douro - Vivino Rating 4.2
The vines for this organic Rose are purposely planted high up on the mountainside at Quinta do Sibio On the Alijó plateau, a terroir known for its mild climate, fresh breezes and richer soils, where Touriga Nacional finds an excelent ripening point in order to preserve its acidity, as well as its fresh and aromatic character. Only 5,600 bottles produced annually. Made from Touriga Nacional (80%), Touriga Franca (20%). Aged for 6 months. The wine has a light salmon pink colour. On the nose it is complexed with floral and notes of red berries. On the palate, it is full of fruity flavours, but at the same time multifaceted and with good volume, finishing the tasting with a lively acidity that gives it a balanced flavour that is full of character.
2) Quinta dos Lobatos | Javali | Red | 2018 | Doc Douro - Vivino Rating 4.1
Named after a pack of Iberian wolves that roam the vineyard, the Quinta do Lobatos is a boutique biodynamic wine made by the talented team at Quinta do Javali. Only 6666 bottles of this wine was produced. Made from Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca & Tinta Barroca and aged for 6 months in French Oak. Intense red color. Nose characterized by notes of ripe red fruits, with a strong presence of strawberry jam and raspberry. The short aging in oak barrels was used only to adjust the aromatic component, being responsible for some spice hints. In the mouth, we highlight the fruity aromas, properly balanced by an elegant structure.
3) Alvarinho Muros de Melgaco | Anselmo Mendes | White | 2020 | Doc Douro - Vivino Rating 4.3
White wine made from grapes of Alvarinho variety produced exclusively in Melgaço. The vineyards are on southfacing hillsides with high maturation and high levels of acidity. Over the years it has become a reference in Portugal for its elegance, class and consistency. Aged for 6 Months in French Oak Barrels. On the nose is austere, mineral with hints of caramel. The mouth attack is frank, dry and very fresh. Long end.
